I’m leaving my current employer de Goudse on the 1ste of April. On LinkedIn such an enouncement comes with a time indication and a thank you to the colleges: “After X years if have decided…” If you ask me, years are not a good indication that you’re ready for a some kind of change. Sometimes people tend to look down on faithfully employees that work for 20 years or more at the same company. I don’t. Maybe they’re having fun at work, get new challenges each year or they have so much other stuff to focus on that it isn’t that important to them. Being in a comfort zone is not bad, so don’t believe a recruiter trying to tell you otherwise! Wanting to feel safe is actually basic necessity, right? I feel safe enough to leave. The more scary part for me is trying to canalize the energy that comes with that. It feels like so many options just opened up. They haven’t actually, it’s just me and the fact that I am contemplating them now 🙂 The other day I had an interview, but I turned it down for now. I don’t want to rush and miss the fun of the free fall.
